However, not every update goes smoothly. Common post-update issues include the inability to connect to the internet. In most cases, this is resolved by performing a “factory reset” using a paperclip to press the reset button on the back of the router for 10 seconds. If the router fails to boot entirely (all LEDs solid or off), a “rescue mode” or TFTP recovery might be necessary, though this is rare if the correct file was used.
