This paper explores the multifaceted "generation gap" in the context of digital media consumption, specifically examining the ecosystem of online movie piracy exemplified by websites like Filmyzilla. While the traditional generation gap is defined by differences in values and lifestyle, the modern divide is characterized by disparate relationships with intellectual property, digital accessibility, and the ethics of consumption. By analyzing the "updated" mechanisms of piracy sites—ranging from Telegram channels to high-speed Google Drive links—this study highlights how the younger generation’s demand for instant, free content clashes with the older generation’s adherence to traditional revenue models and legal frameworks.
A climactic event that forces both sides to find common ground.
